The Botanical Garden of Vilnius University is a non-academic subdivision of Vilnius University, directly subordinate to the Pro-Rector for Organizational Development and Community Affairs and administratively to the University Chancellor. The Botanical Garden is established to provide services that support the activities of the University’s academic subdivisions and to fulfill other University functions.
Goals of the Botanical Garden's Activities:
- To participate in the governance of the University and the formation of its policy in the fields of biological resources, forests and greenery management.
- To develop a multifunctional material base and infrastructure in the Botanical Garden that effectively meets the research and study needs of the University and other community requirements.
- To strive for the establishment of a well-functioning system of high-quality, modern services in the Botanical Garden that is accessible to the entire University community and the public.
- To ensure that high-quality plant collections are accumulated and preserved in the Botanical Garden, available for scientific, educational, and other public community needs.
- To strive for the Botanical Garden's activities to fully contribute to the formation of the University's positive image and the growth of authority both in Lithuania and abroad.
STRUCTURE
